The main difference between an oil burner and a wax burner is the height, and how hot the burner dish gets. Oil burners are generally smaller in height, and the dish reaches much higher temperatures than in a wax burner. These burners should not be used for wax melts because the overheating of the dish and wax could cause the dish to crack. This is a fire hazard, because if the wax drips onto the flame of the tealight, this could start a fire.

The best way to differentiate between a wax burner and an oil burner is to look at the height of the burner. A burner for wax melts should be at least 10cm tall, and there should be a gap of at least 6.5cm inside the wax burner above the flame.

Safety & Burning Instructions: 
To prevent fire and serious injury, burn candles within sight. Keep away from drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn these candles on or near anything that can catch fire. Trim the wick to 5mm before lighting. To prevent tunnelling, ensure the melt pool reaches the edge of the tealight cup before extinguishing, particularly during the first burn. Subsequent burns should be no longer than 5 hours. Keep the candles free from any foreign materials, including matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candles on a level, fire resistant surface.
